Hi senshi friends!

Out of random curiosity, where is everybody employed? Or what career paths are you on, or do you dream of pursuing? I know that Moonies come from all walks of life, but I'm curious where they might be lurking in our shops and businesses. :)

I work:
- as an administrative assistant at a personal training studio
- as an assistant operations manager at an in-home printing studio that specializes in wedding invitations
- as the hostess in a small, up-scale, family-owned Japanese restaurant

Clearly none of these is going to be my life-long career path, but each of them is enjoyable and provides great experience in its own way.

If you're still a student, what are you majoring in, or what do you want to do when you're out of school? Let us know!

Hi everyone!

Has anyone ever tried using Craigslist to make local friends? It sounds a bit sketchy, and most of the posts (even in the platonic section) aren't what I'm looking for. But I saw a really cool one the other day, and I've been emailing back and forth with a girl who lives 45 minutes from me; we're meeting halfway in the middle for brunch today at a local French bakery. I'm excited! Making progress on one of my New Year's Resolutions. :)

Two Thousand and Twelve

Hello everyone!!

I hope that you've all had a wonderful holiday season, no matter which holiday(s), if any, you might celebrate. I always think of all of the Christmas pictures of the senshi decorating trees together, or having holiday parties, or dressing up to deliver gifts! Wouldn't it be nice to have a party like that, with a group of close friends, and bake cookies together, decorate a tree, exchange meaningful gifts, sing songs, watch a Christmas movie, have a snowball fight, drink hot cocoa together.... That's my dream, anyway. I hope it happens someday. :)

But speaking of dreams, and hoping, and future plans - 2012 is just over 24 hours away!!

I know that New Years Resolutions can be private things, but if there are any that you'd like to share, I think it's always helpful to have a community of people who know what you're trying to accomplish and can be there to encourage you and support you when the going gets tough. So if you feel like sharing a resolution or two or three (they don't have to be your super-secret, top-priority ones if you don't want them to be!), then feel free to leave a comment and we'll be there to believe in you and support you!

I'll start. I have some others, but I'll make these public:

1. I'm going to try very hard to do yoga more often! It's so relaxing, and so healthy. I truly love all the time that I've spent practicing yoga in the past, and I need to make it a bigger priority instead of just a once-in-a-while treat. Maybe someday I'll even get my teaching certification, but for now I'm going to focus on making regular practice a part of 2012.

2. Make an effort to do more things, get out and meet more people. I'm not quite sure how I'll do this, except perhaps haunting coffee shops. Suggestions are welcome. :) But I'd really like to make new local friends this year.

3. Create new long-term goals. There were certain goals that I worked towards for years. Most of them I accomplished; some of them were abruptly cut short. I'm drifting a bit now. I need to sit down again and figure out what I'm still passionate about, what I want to accomplish, and what I can look forward to again. In 2012 I will rediscover my motivation and create new long-term goals for myself - goals that don't depend on anyone but me.

......moshi moshi?

*peeks out from her hiding place and looks around*

Um. If anyone sees this - wow! I haven't been on LiveJournal in over a year, but... I've actually missed senshi_friends, as small as a community as it is. I met two really great friends on here, and I feel like it would be a shame to let it die completely, so this is my attempt to resurrect it!

Who's with me? Is anyone still active on LJ? I don't even know how active this website is anymore; it seems like everything happens on Facebook nowadays!

In any case.... I just watched the Sailor Moon S movie yesterday evening, and it reminded me how very important good friends are, and how much I miss having senshi-esque friends in my life. Are you in the same boat? Have you made good friends? What are some suggestions that you might have for making friends (in your town, not online)? Since graduating from college, I'm really at a loss about how to meet people. I work two part-time jobs, but neither one lets meet new people, really. How do you make new friends?

Love and apologies for the LONG absence,
Ami / Rissa

Since bio's aren't enough

I've come to the conclusion that, yes, posting a bio of yourself is a nice way to start, it isn't that only way to get to know people.

I'm the type of person who loves to ask completely random questions, so, when I have a random question, I will most likely post it. -grins-

Anyhow, today's random question is (in honor of the recently passed holiday): What is the scariest thing that has ever happened to you? This could be taken a number of ways (accidents, practical jokes, etc.) Just post a comment below with your answer. We'll see what has happened to people in the past. ^^

I like novels, poetry, fairy tales, folklore and myth. I used to be into manga and anime, and I still enjoy it somewhat. I also like some western animesque TV shows, like Avatar and W.I.T.C.H.(which I am currently obsessing over, and is based on a comic). I'm not a people person, I can't relate to anybody well and usually don't enjoy conversation. But since it's always been easier over the Internet, I'm hoping I'll enjoy talking with you guys!
